Township Code, Chapter 116, Article IV requires that businesses located within Chadds Ford Township register and pay an annual Business Privilege Tax of $100. The Mercantile & Business Privilege Tax (BPT) is administered by Municipal Resource Recovery Systems, LLC. Mercantile and Business Privilege Tax is also required for businesses doing work in the Township if the gross receipt(s) exceed the amount that triggers collection of BPT, and for landlords who rent their property and are therefore conducting business in the Township. The tax is subject to rental and personal property or real estate businesses if the gross receipts exceed the amount that triggers collection of BPT.
