Recycling

Chadds Ford Township does not mandate recycling. Each property owner may choose the recycling option that fits their individual needs. Many of the local trash haulers provide curbside recycling as an option to homeowners.

Many nearby communities offer recycling "igloos" where residents can deposit suitable materials. Please use caution, if you do not strictly adhere to the material guidelines for disposal of waste, the entire contents of the igloo will be deemed "contaminated" and they will be forced to dispose of the contents in a landfill.

Delaware County Solid Waste and Recycling provides options and information on disposal of various kinds and they may be contacted at 610-892-9620. They also publish annual Hazardous Household Waste Collections event poster publicizing events throughout the year where you can dispose of hazardous household waste. Visit their website for more information: Delaware County Solid Waste and Recycling. Also note that some retailers like Staples and Best Buy will take back some of your electronics at no charge. You must inquire with the individual retailer of their recycling program.
